New tranche of Mandelson papers set to be published before Christmas
BBC
What the coverage says
Additional files concerning Peter Mandelson are scheduled for release before Christmas following earlier disclosures in March and June, according to coverage from the BBC and The Independent. The Independent specifies that this upcoming batch follows the prior release of more than 1,500 pages of records. Furthermore, the BBC notes that these additional materials were previously withheld due to an ongoing police inquiry, while The Independent adds that the temporary suppression was specifically intended to avoid prejudicing a Metropolitan Police investigation into allegations of misconduct in public office.
