What the coverage says
President Donald Trump has verified that American military action hit Qeshm Island, though he maintains "it's not a war" and characterizes the actions as "minor strikes." Alongside this confirmation, Al Jazeera reports that the president claims substantial headway in diplomatic talks between Washington and Tehran. CNBC adds context by noting that these American attacks followed Iranian media reports of two missiles striking the island near the Strait of Hormuz.
